ADVERTISEMENT POLICY

Effective Date: 1 September 2026

Duradarshi welcomes advertising and commercial partnerships that are consistent with applicable law, responsible communication, and the values of a credible news and media publication.

This Advertisement Policy explains the general principles applicable to advertisements and promotional communications appearing on the Duradarshi website and, where applicable, associated digital platforms.

1. Types of Advertising

Depending on availability and commercial arrangements, Duradarshi may offer advertising opportunities including:

  • Display advertisements;
  • Banner advertisements;
  • Promotional placements;
  • Sponsored content;
  • Branded content;
  • Event promotions;
  • Classified or service advertisements;
  • Digital campaign placements; and
  • Other advertising formats agreed between Duradarshi and an advertiser.

Availability, placement, dimensions, duration, pricing, and technical specifications may vary.

2. Editorial Independence

Advertising does not automatically influence or determine Duradarshi’s editorial decisions.

Advertisers do not obtain editorial control over independently produced news reports, editorials, investigations, features, or other editorial content merely by purchasing advertising space.

3. Identification of Promotional Content

Where applicable, sponsored, branded, paid, or promotional material may be identified in a manner intended to distinguish it from independent editorial content.

Duradarshi supports a clear distinction between advertising and editorial content.

The Press Council of India has issued journalistic norms addressing advertising and matters such as paid news and the need for newspapers to appropriately scrutinise advertisements. Duradarshi seeks to follow applicable professional standards in this regard.

4. Advertiser Responsibility

Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that the information, claims, offers, representations, images, trademarks, and other materials supplied by them are:

  • Accurate;
  • Lawful;
  • Properly authorised;
  • Non-misleading;
  • Free from unlawful infringement; and
  • Compliant with applicable advertising and regulatory requirements.

Advertisers should have the necessary rights and permissions for all material supplied to Duradarshi.

5. Prohibited or Restricted Advertising

Duradarshi reserves the right to reject, remove, suspend, or modify advertisements that it reasonably considers to be:

  • Illegal or unlawful;
  • Fraudulent or deceptive;
  • Misleading;
  • Defamatory;
  • Obscene or sexually explicit where prohibited;
  • Hate-based or inflammatory;
  • Discriminatory;
  • Harmful or dangerous;
  • In violation of intellectual-property rights;
  • Impersonating another person or organisation;
  • Promoting unlawful activities;
  • Inconsistent with applicable advertising standards;
  • Likely to cause public harm or deception; or
  • Otherwise unsuitable for publication.

Duradarshi may also decline an advertisement at its discretion where publication could reasonably create legal, ethical, reputational, technical, or operational concerns.

6. Verification of Advertisements

Duradarshi may request supporting documents or information from advertisers where necessary to verify an advertisement or advertiser.

Submission of an advertisement does not guarantee publication.

Duradarshi may request modification or clarification before accepting an advertisement.

7. Advertisements and Endorsement

Publication of an advertisement does not necessarily mean that Duradarshi endorses, guarantees, recommends, or certifies the advertiser, product, service, offer, claim, or representation.

Readers should independently evaluate products and services before making purchasing or other decisions.

8. Third-Party Advertising Platforms

Some advertisements may be delivered through third-party advertising platforms or networks.

In such cases, advertising placement, targeting, cookies, tracking technologies, and related processing may be governed partly by the policies of the relevant third-party provider.

Duradarshi reserves the right to revise advertising rates and packages from time to time.

11. Cancellation or Removal

Duradarshi may suspend or remove an advertisement where:

  • The advertisement is found to violate applicable requirements;
  • The advertiser provides inaccurate or misleading information;
  • Required supporting documentation is not provided;
  • The advertisement generates a legitimate legal or compliance concern;
  • The advertiser breaches agreed commercial terms; or
  • Continued publication is otherwise considered inappropriate.

12. No Guarantee of Results

Unless expressly agreed in writing, Duradarshi does not guarantee a particular number of views, clicks, leads, enquiries, sales, conversions, or other commercial results from an advertising campaign.
